What is a chemical peel?


Chemical peels remove the outer most layer of the skin, which prompts our bodies to regenerate new tissue. This process reveals smoother more youthful skin and can aid with many skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. We offer three different strengths of medical-grade chemical peels from Glytone: mandelic acid (mild), glycolic acid (medium), and TCA peels (stronger).


How long do results last?

Depending on the strength of the peel, results can last from 2 months to over a year.

What is the downtime?

Downtime depends on the strength of the peel used. Depending on the person, there is minimal to no downtime for a lighter strength medical grade peel. For more intense peels, the skin may be pink and flakey for around one week after treatment, but there is no true social downtime. Patients are advised to avoid the sun as much as possible for a few days after their peel.
