Dr. Zand is here for you as your partner in health and wellness. She takes her time to sit with you, get to know you, and learn about your preferences and wishes (such as, no antibiotics vs. get rid of this asap). With this detailed understanding, she can design a treatment plan tailor-fit to your exact needs. She focuses on recommendations that are realistic and practical for busy lives, and then acts as your derm coach and cheerleader to support you in maintaining healthy skin. Dr. Zand loves providing her patients with in-depth education about their skin findings, treatment options, and prognosis. She will teach you how to examine your own skin between visits, and empower you with the most important signs to looks for.

Dr. Zand is well known for her compassionate bedside manner, her warm and cheerful personality, and her empathic connection with those who are scared or suffering. She truly cares about each individual patient as she would a dear friend – and her patients feel it. As your medical advisor, she is intelligently optimistic about outcome, and thoughtful about the words she uses. Dr. Zand has a passion for teaching and mentoring students of every level. As Chief Resident at UC Davis, she was responsible for the educational curriculum and board exam training of the dermatology residents. Prior to that, she served as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for five courses at Harvard and three courses at Johns Hopkins. Now in private practice, Dr. Zand is dedicated to coaching the next generation of physicians through her semester long Pre-Med Internship in Dermatology. She also enjoys empowering and inspiring young women at the annual Marin Teen Girl Conference.

Dr. Zand believes in the power of volunteerism, philanthropy, and contributing to our wonderful community. She has served as a Volunteer Dermatologist at the Marin Community Clinic and has hosted multiple free skin cancer screenings in the Bay Area. She volunteered at Camp Discovery, which offers children living with severe skin disease a life-changing social experience. At Harvard, she volunteered extensively for Promesa and served on an inspiring medical mission to Honduras. Locally, Dr. Zand is an avid supporter of the Audubon Society, Marin Humane Society, Nature Conservancy, and the Sierra Club.

Meet Bella, our therapy dog and certified emotional support animal! Bella is a special member of our team and our patients love her for the emotional support she provides. Therapy pets are embraced at top hospitals like MGH and UCSF, as scientific research shows they help lower anxiety, reduce blood pressure, and increase the happy hormone oxytocin. Bella is a hypoallergenic, non-shedding, tricolored Yorkie. She adores being held and cuddled, especially by patients who feel nervous before in-office procedures.
